Meet one of our producers, Mick “Dundee” Gentle the Bonville Banana Farmer. He has been a banana farmer since around 1990, and first started farming with his first wife and her family and loved it.
When he started out on his own, he kept farming on leased farms in North Bonville and remarried. He and his wife purchased their own property in Bonville in 2014. He now has over 4000 plants, with three varieties growing.
When asked what inspires him, Mick replied:
Putting a perfect hand of bananas into the carton gives me a real sense of pride and satisfaction knowing someone will get to enjoy the fruit I work so hard to produce.
The Happy Frog has used and sold Mick’s delicious bananas for over xx years, and our community loves them.
