One Music Australia

The Happy Frog is a One Music Australia member.

Live concerts, performances and music recordings have a very special role in Australia’s cultural and creative life and are pivotal in helping Australian performers showcase their talents, hone their skills and earn an income. It is therefore crucially important to nurture and develop our music artists.

The Happy Frog is a paying member of One Music Australia as we respect and want to do everything we can to support our songwriters and recording artists – creators of Australian culture. It is also a requirement under law if you use copyright music within your business. Commonwealth legislation requires permission (a licence) from the creators of that music. We care about our artists and want to make sure they are getting royalties for their original compositions.

In Australia music creators generally authorise two organisations to administer their rights – APRA AMCOS (composers and music publishers) and PPCA (recording artists and record labels). A OneMusic licence bundles all those rights into one licence that further simplifies the process of gaining the required permission to use music. Without this licence you would, for example, need to deal directly with the composers, songwriters, music publishers, recording artists and record labels who own the rights in the music you wish to use. OneMusic Australia is an APRA AMCOS and PPCA joint licensing initiative launched in 2019.
