Seaside Scavenge is a clean-up event where litter collected from local waterways and parklands becomes a currency in a pop-up market to purchase pre-loved clothes and goods that have been donated by the local community.
Participants will be encouraged to register to receive a bag and gloves, then clean-up the surrounding area. Once finished cleaning, they will return to the sorting station to separate and sort their litter according to the Australian Marine Debris Database managed by Tangaroa Blue. This data is crucial to reduce litter and waterway pollution at the source. For every 10 pieces of litter removed participants earn ONE Trash Token which is the currency in our pop-up, pre-loved market that is stocked with donated toys, books, clothes and more.
